Alexander “Alex” Bell, born on October 19, 1945, peacefully passed away on November 3 2024, at the Newmarket Health Centre, surrounded by his loving family. An energetic and dedicated individual, Alex enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Facilities Manager for most of his life before retiring 26 years ago. After retiring, he continued to share his remarkable work ethic and commitment, taking on roles at Canadian Tire and later at Schell Home Hardware.
Throughout his life, Alex epitomized the spirit of adventure. A seasoned traveler, he cherished the memories of family road trips to the East Coast and family camping adventures that brought joy and laughter to his loved ones. His passion for photography resulted in an abundance of moments, reflecting not just the beauty he witnessed but also the love he had for his family.
Alex was a devoted husband to Peggy for 54 years, with whom he shared countless journeys across the globe. Together, they cultivated a life filled with love, laughter, and shared experiences. He was also a proud father to his daughter Andrea and son Justin, whose lives he enriched with wisdom and warmth. His legacy continues through his beloved granddaughters, Alyvia and Amelia, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
Alex is also survived by his brother Warren Bell. He will be loved and fondly remembered by all his nieces and nephews, friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his siblings George, Arlene, Elaine, Brian, and Joyce, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Known for living life to the fullest, Alex left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He took great pride in his home and found joy in gardening, cultivating beauty in both his surroundings and in the lives of those he loved. His affectionate spirit and vibrant personality will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank the Nurses, PSW's and support staff at the Newmarket Health Centre for their compassionate care and support during his stay.
