Passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family at Cedarvale Long Term Care Home on Saturday February 14, 2026, in her 74th year. Bev leaves behind her best friend and husband of 53 years, Garfield (Gig) Dobbie, of Willow Beach.
Loving mother to Jason and his wife Michelle of Keswick and David and his wife Jennifer of Keswick. Her greatest love was being a doting Grandmother to Easton, Elizabeth, and Grace.
She will be welcomed to her heavenly home by her granddaughter Reagan, her parents Donald and Blanche Coulson and brother-in law Tom Telfer.
She is survived by her siblings and their respective spouses, Johnny and Kelly of Hamilton, Patty of Milton, and Donald and Debbie of Waterdown. Bev will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends who will cherish her memory in their hearts.
Bev grew up in Kilbride, Ontario. Her caring and compassionate nature led her to a career as a Registered Practical Nurse. She was an active, kind, and caring woman who spent most of her life thinking about others. When Bev and Gig moved from Lowville to Willow Beach, she started working with Adults with Special Needs with Community Living. After a few years, Bev decided she wanted to focus on raising their boys and stayed active with Jason and David’s many activities especially baseball and camping. In her spare time, she loved spending time up at their trailer in Haliburton Forest, gardening, and volunteering with the Georgina Food Bank and the Salvation Army.
Bev was over the moon when she became a grandmother. Her unconditional love for her grandchildren made her the most amazing grandma. She went out of way to make sure she was there to look after each of them and be present at all of their many activities.
Bev never wavered in her compassion for others. Her legacy is one of unyielding kindness, love, compassion and empathy.
A Celebration of Life is to be held Saturday March 7, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., with memories shared at 2:00 p.m., at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH 356, 21 East St, Sutton West, ON, L0E 1R0. A private interment will be held at a later date and time.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Georgina Food Bank or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. A special thank you to the staff of Cedarvale Long Term Care Home for all of their care and support.
Oh, Blessed is the promise when our spirit is set free;
To be absent from the body means to live, O Lord, with Thee.
