Bruce Walter Draganac

June 2, 1945 — August 4, 2025

Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, on Monday, August 4th, 2025, at the age of 80 years. Bruce Draganac, beloved husband of 49 years to his best friend, Hedy Draganac, of Sutton. Dear father of Tracy Draganac (Jeremiah Ashbee) and Tim Draganac (Lori Hitchins), Papa to Kathleen Draganac (Ryan Martin) and all his granddogs. Brother of Elsie MacCormack, Dorothy Chirrey and Barry Draganac, the late Alan Draganac, Grace Draganac, Fred Draganac, Bob Draganac, brother-in-law to Gary Wheeler and the late Danny Wheeler and Fran Wheeler.

Bruce was known for being a hard worker who spent his career as a Steamfitter for Local 46. He loved travelling with Hedy and family to their vacation spot in Lakeland, Florida, where he could soak in the sunshine or roam around Old Town. On any nice day, you could find him with his shades on either basking in the sun or riding around on his lawn mower.

Known for his great sense of humour, Bruce loved making people laugh and enjoyed their reactions to his jokes and pranks. He cared deeply for all creatures, especially dogs and birds, and ensured his hummingbirds always had his perfected recipe in their feeder. He, along with Hedy, cherished their dog Molly, who brought them companionship for 16 wonderful years.

Bruce was known as a songbird who knew every lyric of every song that played on his playlist. Even in his final days, he still sang every lyric, bobbed his head, and toe-tapped until the very end.

Still like that old time rock 'n' roll

That kind of music just soothes the soul

I reminisce about the days of old

With that old time rock 'n' roll

He will always be remembered for his kindness, his loyalty to his family and Hedy, his incredible sense of humour and his excellent taste in music. May he rest peacefully with Hedy, who he missed so very much.

A private family service will take place. Donations made in Bruce's honour can be made to Southlake Health Foundation.
