Francesco "Frank" Cicchillo

October 26, 1948 — January 9, 2026

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Francesco Cicchillo, who left this world peacefully on January 9, 2026, surrounded by his devoted family at Royal Victoria Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario.

Francesco was born on October 26, 1948, in Guardia dei Lombardi, Provincia di Avellino, Italy, to Gaetano Cicchillo and Maria Giuseppe Cicchillo (née Balinzo), both predeceased. From his Italian roots, Francesco carried forward a deep pride in his heritage and a lifelong devotion to family, tradition, and hard work.

He was the beloved husband of Angela Cicchillo (née DiPaola), who predeceased him. Their enduring love and partnership were the foundation of a life built on commitment, respect, and shared values.

Francesco is also lovingly remembered by his devoted partner of 10 years, Ruth Dutt, who brought him companionship, care, and happiness, and who stood by his side with love and support.

A devoted father and grandfather, Francesco leaves behind his son Steven and daughter-in-law Liat, and his cherished grandsons Anthony and Daniel. He is also survived by his daughter Tina, her husband John, and his adored granddaughter Angelica, who held a very special place in his heart.

Francesco was a beloved brother to Gerardo Cicchillo (predeceased) and his wife Gail, and to his sister Mary Dalimonte and her husband Pat. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Rita and brother-in-law Fernando Volpe, and sister-in-law Lisa D’Acri.

So deeply loved by his many nieces and nephews, Francesco was a cherished uncle known for his warmth, humour, and generous spirit. He was truly a great and fun uncle, whose laughter and kindness will be remembered always.

Francesco will be remembered for his quiet strength, integrity, and deep love for family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.

He will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Monday January 12 from 2-8 PM at the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home and again on Tuesday January 13 from 10 AM-12 PM. A funeral service will follow starting at 12 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada would be greatly appreciated.
