Helen Irene Winch Passed away peacefully at Southlake Health, surrounded by her loved ones, on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the age of 91 years. Beloved daughter of William and Leona Link. Predeceased by her husband and true love, Merlyn Winch. Cherished mother of Wayne (Julie), Mark (Susan), Jeffrey (Marina) and Cynthia (Paul). Loving Gramma to Aimee (Joel), Tyler (Amanda), Jessica (Mike), Chelsey (Richard), Mathew, Michael, Trent (Sydney), Brett (Kalea), Masha, Sofia and Alexis. Adored Great Gramma of Marcus, Kayse, Ciara, Ella, Isabella, Jaxin, Bayah, Kamryn, Logan, Miles and Miila. Treasured sister of Evelyn, (Shirley deceased) Joan, (Sandra & Carole deceased), Pat, Donna and Bill.

Helen was born in Roches Point, Ontario. Growing up with 8 siblings filled her younger years with many fun times. After marrying Merlyn she moved to the family farm in Belhaven, where the two worked hand in hand farming and raising their 4 children. Their home became the place where extended family and community congregated and love and laughter reigned. Her door was always open and there was always a hot cup of tea waiting. Helen did take on several new careers later in life, and was never afraid to tackle new challenges. She was always very involved with and giving to her community. She treated everyone she met with kindness, and respect and lived her life with grace and thoughtfulness. Helen treasured her relationships with her special farming and church community friends and with God who provided her with strength, courage and comfort throughout life’s challenges. She gave her heart and soul to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A special thank you to Dr. Cathy Lu of the Palliative Care Team (a true angel) and the nurses of 5 Surgical who were absolutely phenomenal with their loving care and concern for Helen in her final days. You went above and beyond.

Helen will forever be missed by her family and dear friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Georgina, Junior Farmer’s Association of Ontario or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
