John Leslie Jones

July 17, 1946, St John's NL – January 5, 2018, Newmarket ON

Now at rest in the peace that passes all understanding. The impact of a man like this will live on through memories of how he shone the light of love on everything around him. Always a true Newfoundlander, John shared a sense of pride in his homeland through jokes and stories. He always had a song to sing and filled every room that he entered with a sense of joy. John was surrounded by the love of his family, friends and the community he faithfully served.

Loving Husband of 47 years to Barb, exceptional Father to Sherry (Marty), Christie (Ian), Stephanie (Braden) and Andrew, adoring Poppy to Lauren, Brooke and Madison and big Brother to Tony and Carol. He continues to inspire us as we strive to live the way he lived: with gratitude, generosity, kindness and optimism.

Though whilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3
