Passed away peacefully in his 69th year surrounded by his family, on Saturday April 4th. His courageous battle with cancer and incredible positive attitude was felt by all who new him. He will be sadly missed by his wife, of 49 years Sharon, children Steven and Carol, their spouses Lionel and Doug, his Grandson Erkki and sister Daphne plus countless inlaws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



John was born in England but lived his entire adult life in Canada. He spent that time working in the music industry. He sold records in Northern Ontario and worked as an on air DJ for CHNO radio in Sudbury from 1963 to 1968. He and his family then moved to Toronto where John continued his radio career with CFGM Country. In 1979 John created Mayfair Music Publications, publishing the world wide hit song Music Box Dancer by Frank Mills. This hit allowed John to build Mayfair Music in one of Canada's largest music publishing companies, specializing in printed educational music.



The family would like to thank Southlake Regional Cancer Centre for their continuous care and support. His numerous nurses and personal support workers who kept him comfortable, especially nurses Brenda from the cancer centre and Debbie his home care nurse.



Visitation will be Tuesday April 7th from 7 - 9pm with funeral service on Wednesday April 8th 11am at Forrest and Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road Sutton ON.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to the Southlake Regional Health Centres Cancer Clinic.
