Joyce Lucille Gadsden, a remarkable woman known for her feisty spirit and boundless love, passed away on June 9, 2025, in Newmarket, Ontario. Born on November 1, 1928, in Toronto, Joyce touched the hearts of all who knew her during her 96 incredible years.
Joyce was cherished by her family, leaving behind her children, Deborah Darrock (the late Robert), Wendy Whitmarsh (Michael), Chris Gadsden (Wendy), and Becky Gadsden. She will be dearly missed by her 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Her legacy of love and joy will forever be carried on in their hearts, a testament to the enduring bond they shared. Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis Gadsden, and their son, Jonathan (Susan) Gadsden, both of whom she missed dearly. She will be dancing in heaven with them now.
A true crochet queen, Joyce had a talent for creating beautiful pieces that embodied her warmth and creativity. She had a deep love for animals of all kinds, reflecting her nurturing nature and compassion. Above all, Joyce’s unwavering faith in Jesus guided her through life, serving as a beacon of hope and strength for her family and friends.
Joyce approached her final days on her own terms, exemplifying the strength and independence that defined her life. Her family and friends will gather to honour her memory during a visitation on June 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home in Sutton, Ontario.
Joyce Lucille Gadsden’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, creativity, and faith. She leaves behind a profound impact that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave to others.
