Kenneth Hackenbrook

Ken, husband to Lorraine for almost 65 years, father of Debbie (Grant), David (Leanne), Bob (Tonya), and Bill (Susana). Grandpa to Laura (Daniel), Kristina, Alex (Sara), Connor (Jacqueline), Jordan (Victoria), Adam Matthew (Afeeza), Arwen, and Noah. Great-Grandpa to Elizabeth, Olivia, Robert, Halle, Hayden, and Nathan. An Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Ken was a life-long contributor to his community; he spearheaded fundraising, was an advocate for safety and simply a great neighbour to all.

A long-time Georgina resident, Ken dedicated himself to the community through years of volunteer work and leadership. He served as a Georgina Councillor for 20 years, from 1994-2014.

Ken supported many local causes, including the Terry Fox Run and the Walk for Alzheimer's, and was active with the Sunkist Beach Association and the Egypt Hall Board. He was also instrumental in improving safety at Morning Glory Public School, helping secure a turning lane and school-zone lights.

Ken made a lasting impact on local hockey and baseball, helping bring charity events to Georgina, coaching, and helping establish the Georgina Hockey School.

Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
