It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Liivi (nee Wallaste) Flauder on Tuesday May 5, 2026. Livi will be sadly missed by her sons Ben (Yvonne) and Gary; grandsons Alex and Kyle; and sister Urve. Predeceased by her parents Evald and Eugenia and sister Irja. Liivi was born in Kuressaare, Estonia on April 17, 1936.

Her family fled the invasion of Estonia by the Soviet Red Army in September 1944 briefly taking refuge in Sweden and then ultimately settling in Canada in 1950.

Liivi lived a long full life. She first worked as a model in her early years in Toronto and then as a bookkeeper until her retirement. She was a long time resident of Blue Heron Drive (formerly McCrae Beach) on Lake Simcoe. She loved to read and garden, and had an extensive collection of garden gnomes. She loved to sit in her sunroom with her dog Coco and admire the daily comings and goings around her neighborhood.

Mom lived the last year of her life being cared for by all the "angels" at Ehatare Retirement and Nursing Home in Scarborough, Ontario. The family wishes to extend its deepest gratitude and thanks to all the wonderful staff for giving her the best care possible.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
