Martin John Bredow

April 21, 1938 – June 9, 2026

Martin John Bredow passed away peacefully at his home in Sutton West, Georgina, Ontario, on June 9, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born in Germany, Martin immigrated to Canada in 1956. A hardworking and determined man, he secured employment within days of arriving. He drove delivery trucks and Brinks armoured cars before spending many years as a respected bus driver for GO Transit and the TTC, retiring in 2003.

Martin was an avid gardener, a trumpet player in his youth, and a talented cook who delighted loved ones with lavish meals. Known for his light-hearted, generous, and warm spirit, he was a devoted family man who cherished spending time with friends and neighbours.

He was predeceased by his parents, Kurt and Gertrud Bredow; his beloved wife, Wendy (2020); and his sister, Irmgard. Martin leaves behind his loving children: Kurt (Joan), Peter (Nancy), Yvonne, Trudi (Angela), Jacqueline (Duane), and John (Jessica), Step-son Derek (Regan); his sister Erika (USA); and his brother Joachim (Germany). He will be deeply missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the medical teams, personal support workers, and neighbours whose care and compassion kept Martin comfortable at home.

Visitation will be starting at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 15th, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Georgina, ON L0E 1R0
