Mary Ann Louise Jackson

July 5, 1944 — September 2, 2018

Jackson, Mary Ann (nee Donald)

Peacefully at her home in Sutton with her family by her side on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the age of 74 years. Mary Ann Jackson, wonderful wife of Albert Jackson. Loving mother of Rusty, Dwayne (Kim) and Jennifer (Tom). Cherished grandmother of Charlie (Allie), Jessie (Adam), Madeline, Eden, Faith, Jackson, Jordan and Joshua. Loving “big sister” of Candice and Peter. Dear cousin, aunt, and great friend to so many, has passed on from this world. Her wonderful spirit and love will be missed greatly by the many lives she has touched. Predeceased by her loving parents (James and Lillian Donald) and brother (Gary Donald), Mary Ann, grew up on Oxford St. in Richmond Hill Ontario. Prior to starting her family and devoting her life to raising her children in Holland Landing, ON, she worked for Sterling Drug. From her youth to her passing, Mary Ann maintained a large group of close-knit old friends, which she lovingly referred to as “the gang” (they will know who they are). Mary Ann was extensively involved in the community where she served for many years on the executive council for the East Gwillimbury Figure Skating Club, the Parent Teacher’s Association at Park Avenue Public School and bookkeeper for the family business (Speedy Auto Machine). Many friends and family members will remember Mary Ann as the ‘social convenor’, ‘match-maker’, ‘family picnic-organizer’, and ‘guidance counsellor’. Mary Ann had an infectious joie de vivre and could make any situation into a great time. From her dancing and singing and joke telling to her role as a second mom to anyone who entered her home, Mary Ann occupies a permanent and beautiful place in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Holland Marsh Wineries, 18270 Keele Street, Newmarket from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with reflections and prayer at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements in the care of Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, Sutton, 905-722-3274.
