Paige Katrina Callahan

May 11, 2008 — September 19, 2025

It is with deep heartbreak that we announce the passing of our beloved Paige, who was taken from us far too soon after a tragic car accident. Throughout her time in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Paige was enveloped in the love and support of her family and friends. Her courage and strength shone through every moment, with her loved ones by her side until her final moment. Though her life was far too short, the warmth, joy, and inspiration she shared will be remembered and cherished always.

At just 17 years old, Paige was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. A passionate athlete and dedicated teammate, she loved hockey, volleyball, soccer, golf and rugby and always played with fierce determination and joy. Her energy, competitive spirit, and love for the game(s) inspired her teammates, coaches, and community both on and off the field.

Beyond her talents as an athlete, Paige was known for her kind heart, unwavering loyalty, and deep love for her family. She was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She will be profoundly missed by her mother, Suzy (Doug), her father, Jason (Annette), and her sisters, Rachel, Erin, Macenzie, Faith, and Emma. Paige was a devoted aunt to Cooper, Willow, and Brooks, who adored her every bit as much as she adored them. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.

In her passing, Paige gave the greatest gift of all, the gift of life and possibility. As an organ donor, she was able to save and transform the lives of five people through the donation of her heart, liver, pancreas, and kidneys. She also made history at St. Michael’s Hospital, where her heart donation became the first-ever resuscitated heart transplant performed at the hospital, and only the second of its kind in all of Canada. Paige’s courage and selflessness will continue to ripple outward through the lives she touched, both here on earth and beyond.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Though her absence leaves an ache beyond measure, we are deeply grateful for the gift of every moment shared with her.

At this time, the entire family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to everyone who has surrounded us with love during this heartbreaking time. Your messages of well wishes, words of condolence, acts of kindness, and generous support both financial and otherwise have brought comfort and strength when it has been needed most. We are profoundly grateful for the community that has embraced us and for the outpouring of love shown in honour of Paige’s life.

A celebration of Paige’s life will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Georgina Ice Palace. On-ice visitation with family and speeches will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., followed by a reception in the hall from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., where food and refreshments will be served. All are welcome to join in remembering and honouring Paige.

Rest easy, sweet Paige. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Thank you for playing until the whistle.
