Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the age of 84 years while surrounded by family. Philip Whitney, beloved husband of Marlene (nee Russ, Davidson) of Keswick. Dear father of Michael Whitney, Bruce Whitney and his wife Alison, Glenn Whitney and his wife Jacqui and Stepfather of Michael Davidson, Carolyn Davidson, Jill Davidson and her husband Dave and John Davidson and his wife Carrie Anne. Loving Grampa & Papa of Andrew, Trevor, Lauren, Georgina, Emma, Matthew, Carley, Mackenzie, Isaac, Kayla, Ada, Ethan, and Renee. Dear brother of Michael and his wife Sandy and the late Geoffrey and his wife Janet. Fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. Philip was a dedicated servant of the Lord and served as Anglican Priest and Hospital Chaplain in B.C. and Ontario. Resting at the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017. Funeral Service in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Leaskdale Saturday at 5:00 p.m. with visitation in the church from 4:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
