Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, ON, on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the age of 75 years. Sonny Cockburn, beloved partner of Joanne Henderson of Willow Beach, ON. Lovingly remembered by his children, Linda Cockburn (Bernard Tardif) of St. Basil Le Grand, QC, Robert (Bobby) Cockburn (Bonnie) of Ajax, ON and Sylvain Lemay (Nicole) of Laval, QC. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and his great granddaughter. Fondly remembered by the mother of his children, Claudette Martin. Brother of Philip (Lorna), Jean Cockburn, and Donald (Judy) all of Montreal and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremated remains, Queensville Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held in De La Salle Chapel, De La Salle Park, Lake Drive, Jackson's Point, ON, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Newmarket Health Center, c/o Devin Barkey, 194 Eagle Street, Newmarket, ON L3Y 1J6 would be appreciated by the family.
