Roderick “Rod” Assance, born May 20, 1954, passed away at the Margaret Bahen Hospice on May 13, 2026. He was a beloved man who is remembered by his family and friends for his kindness and warmth.

Rod was predeceased by his parents Fred and Vivian Assance, and siblings: Terry, Barry, Burdett, Deldon, and Delda. 

Loving Father of  Rachel, Travis, and Cassandra. Proud Papa of Dustin, Aidan, Ziibii, Raven, and Wiidaaseh, all of whom carry fond memories of him. Rod also had several brothers and sisters who continue to cherish his memory: Faran, Clinton, Marsha, April, and Mindy.

Family and friends are invited to honour Rod’s life with a visitation on May 20, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home located at 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton, ON, Canada. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location starting at 6:00 PM.

Rod’s passing leaves a space in many hearts. He will be remembered for the love he gave and the family ties he held dear. His legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren. Those who knew Rod will remember him fondly and carry his spirit with them always.
