It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Roman Oleksij who left us on Oct. 10th, 2025 at the age of 75 years.
A beloved husband of Oksana, loving father of Sommer and Milan, dear brother to Walter (late), Anne Durbano (Harry), Ihor Oleksij, and Darka Oleksij (Ken), and cherished son of Bohdan & Malwina (late). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Roman lived a life defined by his unwavering commitment to his family and friends. As a husband, he was a lifelong partner. As a father, he was a guiding light, always present with encouragement and open arms. To his siblings he was a pillar of strength as an older brother, sharing countless memories that will forever bind their hearts. To his friends, he was a source of joy who always showed comradery through their shared interests.
His presence was a gift- whether it was through his generous spirit, or the quiet ways he showed he cared. Roman had a unique ability to make everyone feel seen and loved, leaving an indelible mark on our lives. He had many passions and hobbies which include volleyball, golf, Ukrainian dancing, cooking, art and carpentry.
We will carry Roman with us always, in the stories we share, the love we hold, and the memories that will forever warm our hearts.
Rest in peace Nidgie. You were loved beyond measure.
We encourage loved ones to bring or send any photos, letters, memories, and items of sentiment to be laid with Roman in his final resting. Digital versions or questions can be directed to Sommer – sommer.oleksij@gmail.com
