It's time to say goodbye to a truly extraordinary woman.

Roswitha Gabriele Pietrowski (Hopf), commonly known as Vita, passed away peacefully at Southlake Hospital on May 13th, 2026.

Vita was predeceased by her parents and her 4 siblings. She is survived by her children and grandchildren.

In her later years Vita battled the same chronic illnesses she faced in her early years. It is remarkable that she survived those early years at all, but Vita did not just survive, she thrived. She travelled the world and then Canada before settling in Georgina. First in Keswick and then almost 50 years in Sutton before spending her final years back in Keswick.

Vita believed that we all have a responsibility to give back to the communities we call home. When the call went out for volunteers Vita answered. It did not matter which local group, team or church needed help; she was there. Her decades long tenure with Guiding and Scouting had a tremendous impact on the lives of so many young people who continue to pass on her teachings to the next generation today.

To all the hard-working, dedicated health care professionals who helped extend Vitas life over these many years, we cannot thank you enough.

We invite all whose life she touched to join us in a celebration of her life on October 3rd, 2026, at 1 pm at a yet to be determined location in Sutton.
