Ruth Mary Matt

Ruth Mary Matt, née Crockett, was born on January 11, 1944, in Toronto, Ontario. She passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth was a woman defined by her loving nature, steadfast loyalty, and genuine supportiveness. These qualities shaped her into the cornerstone of her family and the heart of every gathering. Her devotion extended not only to those closest to her but also to the various passions she pursued throughout her life. Cooking, baking, knitting, and gardening were more than mere hobbies; they were avenues through which Ruth expressed her creativity and care, bringing warmth and comfort to her home and those she cherished.

She took immense pride in her family — her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ruth’s proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly the strong, loving family she nurtured and the enduring bonds she helped forge across generations. Her son Michael (Tania) Matt and daughter Christina (George) Hartwick carry forward her legacy, while her grandchildren Ashleigh, Lindsay, Adam (Shannelle), Jack, and Gracie, along with seven great-grandchildren, continue to benefit from her unwavering love and guidance.
