Wayne has gone on his final hunting trip!
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wayne Douglas Stubbings on November 20, 2024.
Wayne will be remembered for his great love of the outdoors from camping and fishing with his family, to moose, deer, duck, and goose hunting with friends and his boys. And if he was not hunting or planning the next hunting trip, he was off fishing in Georgian Bay or Lake Ontario. Wayne was born in Toronto, Ontario September 28, 1941. He grew up in Saint Hampton, raised his family in Keswick, and after retiring, settled in Georgina and finally in North Frontenac. Wayne was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (Barb) Stubbings (née Murphy) in 2017. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of calling him family and friend. He is survived by his children: Dave (Heather), Sandra, Shawn (Genna), and Doug. He was known as "Papa" by his grandchildren: the late Christina, Adam, Matt, Emily, Westley, Caitlin, Devin and Ayla and great granddaughter, Chelsea. It was in the great outdoors that Wayne found his happiness.
A public visitation will be held on Monday December 2, 7PM -9PM There will be a reception and visitation on Tuesday December 3, 10AM - 12PM with the eulogy being read at 12PM. The burial will follow at the Queensville Cemetery in Keswick.
