Yvonne Mina (Anderson) Yeates

September 17, 1936 —February 10, 2024

On February 10, 2024, at Cedarvale Lodge in Keswick, Yvonne Mina (Anderson) Yeates peacefully passed from this life into eternity with her Lord.

Beloved wife of Edward Yeates (deceased) of Keswick. Loving mother of Sherry MacDonald (John) of Trenton and Donna Winters of Orillia. Grandmother of Austin MacDonald, Tamara George (Joel), Caleb Winters, Liberty Olson (Justin), and Hudson MacDonald (Abbigayle). Great-grandmother of Daniel, Justice, and Gabriel George, Galen and Aurora MacDonald, Elias Olson, and Athena-Rose MacDonald. Lovingly remembered by her nieces Karen (Norm) Smart and Siobhan McMullan and her sister-in-law, Jerry McMullan, and dearly missed by her lifelong friends, prayer circle “sisters”, and church family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Ruth Anderson, husband Edward Yeates, son Teddy Yeates, great-granddaughter Joy George, and niece Cheryl (Dave) Munce.

Yvonne’s career as a secretary began at the Toronto Stock Exchange, and she applied her skills to businesses, ministries, and churches throughout her career, even working in the Bermuda tourist industry for a short time! During her children’s early years, Yvonne was a dedicated mother at home, volunteering at their school and during field trips, and took pride in managing an efficient, clean house. Yvonne was a reliable volunteer in her faith community, hosting Bible studies in her home and at church and mentoring women who wanted to learn to pray, grow in their faith, and study the Bible. Yvonne loved to express herself with music - often encouraging a sing-along with her family and friends (or whoever happened to be nearby)! Her deepest desire was to convey to everyone the joy and peace of living in tune with God’s purposes, in love with Jesus, and guided by the Holy Spirit.

Yvonne was always willing to share a word of encouragement or a laugh, and she lit up the room with her lively and engaging personality. Her social circles were primarily women with similar faith interests, although she made friends easily and could talk with anyone.
